GuessGlobe Daily: Today's Mystery Country
One mystery country a day, the same for everyone. Every guess shows how close you are. Find it in as few guesses as you can.
How to play
- Type any country to start. The globe colours it by how close it is to the mystery country: pale for far away, deep red when it is very close.
- Read the clues. Each guess shows the distance from its border to the mystery country's border, and an arrow pointing towards it. "Borders it" means you are right next door.
- Close in. Use the arrows and colours to narrow it down. Find the country in as few guesses as you can.
- Bonus round. Once you find it, name its capital from four options.
A new country appears every day at 00:00 UTC. Your streak and statistics are saved on your device, and Share result copies a grid of coloured squares that shows your guesses without giving away the answer.
Tips for fewer guesses
Start with a large, central country, such as Kazakhstan, Chad or Brazil, rather than a small one: its distance and arrow tell you much more about which continent to look at. Once a guess turns dark red, the answer is within a few hundred kilometres, so try its neighbours. Distances are measured border to border, not between capitals, so a large neighbour can show "borders it" even when its capital is far away.
Every country on the map appears once before any country comes back, so the mystery country is never yesterday's.
