Asia Countries Quiz
The globe turns to an Asian country. Name it, then name its capital. Ten countries per round, drawn from all 48.
How the Asia quiz works
Each round draws ten countries from Asia. The globe zooms in and highlights one; pick its name from four options, then its capital. On Hard difficulty in the challenge modes, the wrong options come from nearby countries with similar names, which is where Asia gets tricky.
GuessGlobe counts Turkey, Cyprus, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Palestine as part of Asia, and Russia as part of Europe. Bahrain, the Maldives and Singapore are too small to see at globe scale, so the globe rounds use the other 45 countries. All 48 appear in Name the Countries and the Flag Quiz.
Tips for learning Asia's map
Anchor on the giants. China, India, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, Iran and Indonesia take up most of the map. Learn where the smaller countries sit relative to them.
Sort out the "-stans". Kazakhstan is the huge one in the north. South of it, from west to east, come Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Afghanistan and Pakistan sit further south, next to Iran and India.
Capitals that catch people out: Vietnam's capital is Hanoi, not Ho Chi Minh City. Pakistan's is Islamabad, not Karachi. Turkey's is Ankara, not Istanbul. The United Arab Emirates' is Abu Dhabi, not Dubai. Myanmar moved its capital from Yangon to Naypyidaw in 2005, and Kazakhstan's capital is Astana, not Almaty.
